The Feeling of Sir Dundee Poem
Thanks for a great Valentine's Day date

In the quiet of the moonlit night, my heart aches and sigh,

For the shadow that you cast upon my soul is vast and deep.

When I attempt to speak the words that bid our hearts goodbye,

They linger on my trembling lips as if frozen in their sleep.

And when I try to leave, my legs betray my will,

Stumbling on the path.

As I gaze upon the ground that knows our every tread.

The stars above, they seem to weep in silent sympathy,

As I struggle with the weight of your sweet memory's care.

Each time I think I've found the strength to break the tether,

Your memory returns, as potent as the dawn's first light.

The scent of roses lingers still, a phantom of your grace,

A haunting melody of moments lost in time's cruel jest.

And though I try to build a wall around my heart's embrace,

Your gentle whispers break it down like autumn leaves at rest.

With every breath I take, your name is on my tongue,

A silent plea that begs for you to be my quest.

I try to say goodbye, but the words are trapped inside,

And when I stumble forth, it's your voice that I hear.

Through the veil of pride, my true feelings do not hide,

My world is torn apart when you are not near.

Oh, the battles I have fought, the wars within my mind,

To convince my heart that I can live without your love so true.

But every time I think that I have left you far behind,

Your touch, your warmth, your laugh, they all come rushing through.

Now I stand before you, Sir Dundee so fair,

With trembling hands and a heart that longs to be yours.

I lay down my sword, my shield of solitude impaired,

And offer up to you my soul, my life to share.

Take my hand, be my guiding star through nights of doubt and fear,

For in your embrace, my love, I know I'll never stumble.

Let me say goodbye to loneliness, with your touch, so warm and bright,

And let us walk together, into the mists of destiny's sphere.

I'll hide no more, my feelings laid bare, my love so clear,

With you beside me, my world is whole, and my heart's in cheer.

So take me as your own, my gallant knight so dear,

And together we will conquer all the battles we shall face.

For in your arms, I find the strength to persevere,

And in your love, the sweetest embrace, my heart finds its place.
