The Worn Path of Dreams
The Worn Path of Dreams
In shadows where old hopes lie,
A heart once bright now whispers sighs,
With every chance that slips away,
I dance with ghosts of yesterday.
A heart once bright now whispers sighs,
With every chance that slips away,
I dance with ghosts of yesterday.
You held the skies within your gaze,
A promise wrapped in fleeting days,
Yet love can wear a bitter edge,
And turn sweet dreams to solemn dredge.
Oh butterflies that flit and play,
Your vibrant flights may lead astray;
From changeless hearts to restless nights,
Life's struggle dims our brightest lights.
Still echoes linger deep inside,
The warmth of love we tried to hide.
Compassion breaks like waves on shore,
Though loss may knock, we'll seek once more.
Though no chance brings a soft refrain,
I'll weave through blues and brush the pain;
For in the scars of dreams unmade,
New seeds of strength are gently laid.
